This should change the gambling market in Austria and strengthen the company&#8217;s position in German-speaking markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal involves <strong>Novomatic AG<\/strong> leaving the Austrian market to focus on international expansion, while Tipico takes control of the local brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tipico and Admiral will continue to operate in the Austrian online market. However, under the conditions of the approval of the deal by the Austrian Federal Antimonopoly Office, Tipico is obliged to sell a significant part of its land-based betting shops. The remaining shops will be integrated into the Admiral network, which will provide a unified retail presence under one brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tipico Group CEO, <strong>Axel Hefer<\/strong>, commented on the deal\u2019s completion, describing Admiral as \u201ca leading Austrian company with a strong legacy, and clear potential for future growth\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hefer added: \u201cBoth companies are synonymous with state-of-the-art technology, innovative products and a high focus on player protection. Our future collaboration is very good news for our customers. This investment marks an important step in Tipico\u2019s growth strategy and underscores our leading role in the German-speaking markets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Novomatic, meanwhile, has framed the move as a chance to concentrate on overseas opportunities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Board Member, <strong>Stefan Krenn,<\/strong> said: \u201cThe completion of this transaction marks an important step in our global expansion strategy with a clear focus on international growth markets. Admiral has developed into an established market leader over the past decades, and we thank all Admiral employees for their great commitment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased to have found a strong and reliable technology partner in Tipico, who will successfully continue the company\u2019s operations in Austria.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement follows the publication of Tipico\u2019s 2024 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report in July 2025, which placed problem gambling and player protection at the core of its sustainability agenda.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The operator reported that turnover linked to potentially problematic gambling behaviour stayed below 1.5% for the full year, a figure that includes activity from customers who later self-excluded or were excluded before interventions were applied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tipico said the figure demonstrates the effectiveness of its early detection systems, describing player protection as a \u201ccentral focus\u201d in its broader strategy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hefer added: \u201cThis ESG report reflects our commitment to long-term value creation for all stakeholders, and it shows that growth and responsibility go hand in hand at Tipico.
