The deal is aimed at strengthening GRID\u2019s betting division, <strong>GRID Bet<\/strong>, and reinforcing the company\u2019s role in the rapidly growing esports sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement transfers nearly a decade of Bayes\u2019 work to GRID, including live data trading solutions, prediction models, and fan engagement tools. All these services will now operate on the <strong>GRID Data Platform<\/strong> and exclusively utilize GRID\u2019s official esports data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The addition of Bayes\u2019 assets will accelerate product development and expand GRID\u2019s capacity to deliver innovative services, particularly in the regulated betting market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Moritz Maurer<\/strong>, Founder and Chief Executive of GRID, said the deal was a major step forward: \u201cThe acquisition of Bayes assets further accelerates GRID\u2019s capabilities to create value for rights holders in esports and shape the next phase of esports betting in particular.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The move comes at a time when betting linked to esports is gaining momentum worldwide, with integrity and audience engagement seen as key to sustaining growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wider esports industry has been on a steep upward curve, both in audience numbers and commercial value. Industry research shows global viewership reached about<strong> 611 million people in 2024<\/strong> and is forecast to climb to nearly <strong>641 million by 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much of that expansion is being driven by <strong>Asia-Pacific<\/strong>, which now represents more than half of the global fan base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financially, the sector has also grown in step with its popularity. Sponsorship deals and media rights generate the majority of revenues, while high-profile tournaments are drawing record engagement.
