{"id":11032,"date":"2025-10-08T09:01:43","date_gmt":"2025-10-08T08:01:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=11032"},"modified":"2025-10-08T09:01:47","modified_gmt":"2025-10-08T08:01:47","slug":"yolo-group-obtains-two-online-gaming-content-supplier-licences-in-the-uae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/10\/08\/yolo-group-obtains-two-online-gaming-content-supplier-licences-in-the-uae\/","title":{"rendered":"Yolo Group Obtains Two Online Gaming Content Supplier Licences in the UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GGRA)<\/strong> has approved licences for <strong>Yolo Group\u2019s subsidiaries<\/strong> &#8211; <strong>Hub88 Holdings Ltd (hu88.io)<\/strong> and <strong>Live Online Gaming Services LLC<\/strong> (which includes <strong>Live88.io<\/strong> and <strong>Onetouch.io<\/strong>) &#8211; to supply online gaming content to the UAE market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yolo Group founder Tim Heath<\/strong> described the licences as a \u201cstatement of intent\u201d and an important milestone in the company\u2019s strategic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Live88<\/strong> will become <strong>the first licensed online live casino studio<\/strong> in the jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In September, Heath explained via a post on <strong>Substack<\/strong> that the firm no longer sees grey market activity as a sustainable business model for the crypto gaming firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou cannot be white and grey; you have to pick a side,\u201d he explained. \u201cCrypto is no longer niche. Regulators and financial institutions are finally recognising the transformative role it plays. Players everywhere expect speed, accessibility and inclusion as standard. What was once radical is now becoming mainstream.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its new strategy, the company <strong>merged its flagship brands &#8211; Sportsbet.io and Bitcasino.io &#8211; under a single name, Yolo.com<\/strong>. The new brand aims to enter regulated markets in Canada, Sweden, and Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although Yolo has not yet applied for licences for its main brands in the UAE, obtaining <strong>B2B licences<\/strong> for its subsidiaries lays the foundation for further growth in a market that aligns with the company\u2019s vision to innovate and expand crypto gaming in regulated environments worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the SBC<strong> Summit<\/strong>, the GCGRA\u2019s CEO, <strong>Kevin Mullally<\/strong>, confirmed that technology will lead the jurisdiction\u2019s regulatory framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He told attendees: \u201cFigure out how to entertain your customers in the best way you can, and we will figure out a way to regulate it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhatever you bring us, we will design a way, we will make sure it\u2019s safe. We will make sure that we have data to ensure that the customer experience is protected. We want the technology providers to focus on entertainment, not look at the regulations and have to design games within this box.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yolo Group joins <strong>Aristocrat, Novomatic, and Scientific Games<\/strong>, which have also received gaming supplier licences<strong> <\/strong>from the GGRA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>August 2024<\/strong>, <strong>The Game LLC<\/strong> became <strong>the first licensed gaming operator in the UAE<\/strong>, authorised to conduct the <strong>national lottery<\/strong>.
