Earlier government forecasts had been revised downward due to challenging conditions, primarily caused by Super Typhoon Ragasa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a research note, <strong>CreditSights<\/strong> stated that while the government\u2019s forecast came as no surprise, analysts consider it <strong>too conservative<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government expects <strong>GGR<\/strong> in 2025 to reach <strong>MOP 228 billion (approximately USD 28.4 billion)<\/strong>. This projection was adjusted due to difficult market conditions. However, CreditSights believes that the <strong>original forecast of MOP 240 billion (around USD 29.9 billion)<\/strong> remains achievable, as tourism in the region continues to grow rapidly toward the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe expect that the strong visitation recorded during the recent Golden Week holidays will support higher GGR performance in October,\u201d the analysts stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Golden Week<\/strong> is one of China\u2019s biggest holidays, when thousands of tourists flock to Macau to take advantage of the region\u2019s tourism and entertainment offerings. Casinos host numerous events during this period to make the most of the surge in visitors and boost revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe see Macau in a strong position to meet its 2025 GGR target. To do so, it needs to maintain an average monthly GGR of <strong>MOP 15.6 billion (USD 1.95 billion)<\/strong>, compared to the current year-to-date average of <strong>MOP 20.1 billion (USD 2.51 billion)<\/strong> for the first three quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the current pace of monthly GGR growth continues, achieving the previous government target of <strong>MOP 240 billion<\/strong> is also quite possible,\u201d the analysts added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Macau\u2019s tourism sector also received a boost this week with the <strong>return of the NBA<\/strong> after a six-year absence.
