{"id":11344,"date":"2025-11-04T07:29:55","date_gmt":"2025-11-04T07:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=11344"},"modified":"2025-11-04T07:30:00","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T07:30:00","slug":"spribe-aims-to-return-aviator-to-the-market-following-licensing-restrictions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/11\/04\/spribe-aims-to-return-aviator-to-the-market-following-licensing-restrictions\/","title":{"rendered":"Spribe Aims to Return Aviator to the Market Following Licensing Restrictions\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Spribe<\/strong> has responded to the <strong>UK Gambling Commission (UKGC)<\/strong> suspension of its operating licence by confirming that a licensing mishap took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Commission announced earlier that Spribe\u2019s Gaming Software licence had been suspended until the company acquires an appropriate licence for its business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement shared with <strong>SBC<\/strong>, Spribe confirmed that it has been operating using a Gambling Software licence since 2020 but that it actually required a remote casino game host licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a technical licensing gap that was not identified during the original application process in 2020,\u201d its statement read. \u201cSpribe is now preparing an application to vary our existing licence to add remote casino game host activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are working urgently to ensure this application is submitted as soon as possible and that all technical and regulatory requirements are fully met. We hope the Commission will be able to approve the application promptly and that we can recommence operations in the UK market as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The wrong licence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spribe\u2019s chief product is Aviator, a widely used crash game with notable operators offering it including <strong>888casino, BetVictor, BetMGM<\/strong> and <strong>Paddy Power.<\/strong> Spribe operated the game itself via these companies\u2019 backends under a \u2018hosting\u2019 arrangement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The licensing mishap in question here saw Spribe carry out hosting under the assumption that this was covered under its Gambling Software licence, when in actuality it required a hosting licence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What this boils down to is a simple mistake \u2013 Spribe thought it had the right licence, but it did not. The firm has not been accused of black market activity, but more of a licensing mishap \u2013 though some have taken to LinkedIn to state that their \u201cspidey senses are tingling\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What this suspension does tell us is that the Commission is clearly becoming more vigilant for any types of unlicensed activity.
