{"id":11376,"date":"2025-11-06T07:42:52","date_gmt":"2025-11-06T07:42:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=11376"},"modified":"2025-11-06T07:42:56","modified_gmt":"2025-11-06T07:42:56","slug":"genius-sports-adjusted-its-full-year-forecast-following-its-third-quarter-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/11\/06\/genius-sports-adjusted-its-full-year-forecast-following-its-third-quarter-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Genius Sports Adjusted its Full-Year Forecast Following its Third-Quarter Results"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Whilst <strong>Genius Sports<\/strong> finished on a strong footing in Q3, it did not go without some financial drawbacks to deal with by the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total group revenue landed at <strong>$166.3m<\/strong> for the <strong>three months ending September<\/strong>, which was<strong> 38% over<\/strong> the<strong> $121m<\/strong> gained for the same period last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of that total, <strong>Betting Technology, Content &amp; Services<\/strong> constituted the largest share, with total revenue <strong>of $110m<\/strong>, up 28.5% from the $85m in Q3 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whilst second in revenue for a total of<strong> $42m, Media Technology, Content, &amp; Services<\/strong> grew the most, with <strong>89% more<\/strong> over last year\u2019s Q3 results ($22m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sports Technology &amp; Services<\/strong> came in last at <strong>$14m<\/strong>, but still more than the $12m in Q3 2024 (<strong>up 16.4%<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In summary, Genius\u2019 Media was the predominant driver of the total $166.3m revenue with its 89% growth, mainly contributed to \u201chigher programmatic advertising services\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Group<\/strong> <strong>Adjusted EBITDA<\/strong> came in at<strong> $34m<\/strong>, up 32.3% YoY from the $27m in Q3 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was however a noticeable drop in the data technology provider\u2019s net income. In Q3 2024, Genius recorded <strong>$13m<\/strong> in net income \u2013 this was transformed into a <strong>$29m<\/strong> net loss for the three months ending September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s not to raise any alarm bells, however, as the company explained part of that was due to $7.5m loss from foreign currency exchanges, as well as a multitude of data rights agreements and non-recurring litigation costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most recent of these major agreements was the acquisition of sports fan data distributor <strong>Sports Innovation Lab<\/strong>, expanding Genius\u2019 media division and strengthening its position in data-led fan engagement space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another major milestone was the expansion of its data product <strong>BetVision<\/strong> to global basketball competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commemorating the development with an exclusive interview for SBC News, <strong>Matt Stephenson<\/strong>, Global Partnerships Director at Genius Sports, commented: \u201cBetVision\u2019s functionality allows bettors to watch live streams and place these bets inside the same experience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThey can browse relevant player stats, track ongoing bets, and even tap-on individual athletes to display the latest props markets\u2026it\u2019s designed to boost in-play entertainment in ways that customers want.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, Genius Sports also managed to secure the exclusive data rights for Italy\u2019s flagship <strong>Serie A <\/strong>football league until the end of the 2028\/29 season \u2013 with that exclusivity encompassing live data and video distribution rights for <strong>Coppa Italia<\/strong> and <strong>Supercoppa Italiana<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Given the active quarter, Genius Sports has raised its full-year Group Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA guidance <strong>to $655m and $136m respectively<\/strong>, coupled with a projected positive annual cash flow by the end of this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whilst Genius Sports finished on a strong footing in Q3, it did not go without some financial drawbacks to deal with by the end of the year.
