{"id":11646,"date":"2025-12-02T08:26:24","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T08:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=11646"},"modified":"2025-12-02T08:26:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T08:26:28","slug":"openai-plans-to-introduce-ads-in-chatgpt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/12\/02\/openai-plans-to-introduce-ads-in-chatgpt\/","title":{"rendered":"OpenAI Plans to Introduce Ads in ChatGPT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>OpenAI<\/strong> is reportedly developing and testing an ad system inside <strong>ChatGPT<\/strong>, starting with search-connected answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tibor Blaho<\/strong>, engineer at <strong>AIPRMcorp<\/strong>, discovered ad system strings inside the latest ChatGPT Android beta (version 1.2025.3200) with references to \u2018ads feature\u2019, \u2018search ads\u2019 and \u2018bazaar content\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He posted images of the code on <strong>X<\/strong>, which has quickly been circulated across multiple platforms including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/singularity\/comments\/1p9nxjg\/leak_openai_is_building_an_ad_network_inside\/\"><strong>Reddit<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The code contains early indications for ad placement formats and shopping-style sponsored cards such as ad-targeting hooks and an ad carousel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It suggests that OpenAI is considering embedding promotions directly into ChatGPT\u2019s search-style results \u2013 a move that would closely resemble <strong>Google\u2019s<\/strong> search ads model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blaho wrote on X: \u201cMy guess is that ads will start around search, shopping and recommendation answers, with \u2018bazaar content\u2019 and \u2018search ads carousel\u2019 pointing marketplace style product cards, not inside every normal chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis brings ChatGPT close to what we already see from Google and Microsoft, where Google shows ads inside AI Overviews and AI Mode results and has talked about native ad ideas for Gemini. Copilot already shows ads in chat for shopping and other commercial questions, and Perplexity shows sponsored follow up questions next to the answers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OpenAI\u2019s CEO <strong>Sam Altman<\/strong> has been talking about testing ads in a \u201ccareful way\u201d and this is the first clear sign that this is now being developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of late 2025, Altman confirmed ChatGPT has reached 800 million weekly users and now processes billions of prompts per day.
