Spribe<\/strong> has been named as one of three suppliers whose activities have drawn increased attention from the Swedish regulator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Spelinspektionen<\/strong>, a supervisory procedure has been initiated regarding Spribe O\u00dc, Epic88 Ltd, <\/strong>and Gamomat Distribution GmbH<\/strong> to assess their compliance with rules governing the creation, provision, deployment, and modification of gaming software for unlicensed operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such activities are considered a violation of the provisions set out in Chapter 11, Section 6e of Sweden\u2019s Gambling Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from Sweden, Spribe holds licenses in Malta, Gibraltar, the Netherlands, Ontario, as well as in several other jurisdictions across Europe, Africa, and the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTechnical Licensing Gap\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation adds to Spribe\u2019s recent difficulties in the United Kingdom: in October, the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC)<\/strong> suspended the company\u2019s license, citing the absence of the required permission to host the services it was providing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spribe, however, has held a UK remote gambling software license continuously since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nevertheless, UKGC\u2019s investigation found that the company had been hosting casino games for operators without the appropriate remote casino game host license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response to the regulator\u2019s actions, Spribe acknowledged its position, noting that the issue is related to a \u201ctechnical licensing gap\u201d that was not recognized during the original 2020 application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company stated: \u201cSpribe applied for and was given a remote gambling software licence in 2020. However, our business model also requires a remote casino game host licence. That is a technical licensing issue that was not recognised in the original application process in 2020.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company also confirmed that it is preparing a license variation to include the necessary permissions for remote casino game hosting and is working urgently to ensure full technical and legal compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
