This would be separate from the ads already running in AI Mode \u2013 its AI-powered search platform launched in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, <strong>Dan Taylor<\/strong>, VP of Global Ads at the tech giant has refuted the claims, stating on <strong>X<\/strong>: \u201cThis story is based on uninformed, anonymous sources who are making inaccurate claims. There are no ads in the Gemini app and there are no current plans to change that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <em>AdWeek<\/em>, sources described the conversations as mostly exploratory with light technical details and they were not shown any prototypes, formats or pricing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the rumours around Google were slammed, advertisers shouldn\u2019t ignore the \u201csignal beneath the noise\u201d, <strong>Todd Baily,<\/strong> Director of SEO at <strong>Sagapixel<\/strong> wrote on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said: \u201cMarketers are watching AI assistants closely for one reason: AI is shaping up to be the next major digital ad frontier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[\u2026] A monetised Gemini wouldn\u2019t replace search ads \u2013 it would create a new surface entirely.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The noise around ads coming to AI-powered search engines has received backlash from marketers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OpenAI<\/strong> was reportedly developing and testing an ad system inside <strong>ChatGPT<\/strong>. The Microsoft-backed firm allegedly then started rolling out what look like ads on the chatbot to paying subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A post on X by former <strong>xAI<\/strong> employee <strong>Benjamin De Kraker <\/strong>shows a screenshot of a conversation within ChatGPT with the option to shop at Target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nick Turley<\/strong>, head of ChatGPT at OpenAI, disputed the claims of potential ads appearing in a post on X saying \u201cthere are no live tests for ads\u201d and \u201cany screenshots you\u2019ve seen are either not real or not ads\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, ChatGPT has rolled back this feature, even though it wasn\u2019t directly an ad.
