The gambling group announced Susman\u2019s appointment as an independent non-executive director, with her role set to begin <strong>on 29 May 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Susman\u2019s career path closely aligns with Flutter\u2019s current business and the challenges the company is facing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>John Bryant,<\/strong> Chair of the Board, said: \u201cWe are delighted to welcome Sally as a non-executive director. Sally\u2019s appointment is in line with our Board renewal program having regard to the scale, geographic breadth and growth of the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to Sally joining the Flutter Board and contributing to the Company\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Susman has held key positions in the American corporate sector for many years. She has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Pfizer for <strong>19 years<\/strong>. Prior to that, she worked at <strong>Est\u00e9e Lauder<\/strong> from 2000 to 2007, and at <strong>American Express<\/strong> from 1990 to 1993 and again from 1995 to 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although none of her roles were directly related to betting or gambling, her experience in highly regulated and politically sensitive industries likely attracted Flutter\u2019s attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite its Irish-British roots and origins in the merger of <strong>Paddy Power<\/strong> and <strong>Betfair<\/strong>, Flutter has increasingly turned its focus to the US market. This is reflected both in the company\u2019s quarterly reports and in its decision to move its primary listing from the <strong>London Stock Exchange to the New York Stock Exchange<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FanDuel<\/strong> has become Flutter\u2019s key revenue driver since its acquisition in 2019. According to the latest report, FanDuel generated <strong>$1.37bn<\/strong> in revenue in the third quarter, compared with <strong>$853m<\/strong> from the UK and Ireland business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent months, the company has also turned its attention to the growing predictions markets segment. In November, Flutter announced the launch of its own predictions app, <strong>FanDuel Predicts<\/strong>, scheduled for later this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This move means Flutter will need to engage with both state regulators (for betting and gaming) and the US federal <strong>Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)<\/strong>, which oversees predictions markets. Bringing in American professionals with deep experience in highly regulated industries and in working with government bodies will therefore be an advantage.
