{"id":12012,"date":"2026-01-15T08:22:58","date_gmt":"2026-01-15T08:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=12012"},"modified":"2026-01-15T08:23:04","modified_gmt":"2026-01-15T08:23:04","slug":"igp-enters-the-romanian-technology-services-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/01\/15\/igp-enters-the-romanian-technology-services-market\/","title":{"rendered":"iGP Enters the Romanian Technology Services Market"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>IGaming solutions firm <strong>iGP<\/strong> is set to enter the Romanian gambling scene at a time of regulatory change for one of Eastern Europe\u2019s biggest markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Malta-based company announced today that it has secured a B2B licence with the <strong>NationalGambling Office of Romania (ONJN)<\/strong>, and can now offer its tech to local firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now certified, the company intends to launch its aggregator, turnkey casino and sportsbook platforms, crypto solutions and retail products to the Romanian market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jovana Popovi\u0107 \u010canaki<\/strong>, CEO at iGP, said: \u201cThe Romanian B2B licence reflects iGP\u2019s evolution into a focused B2B technology partner, built to support operators with stability, control, and long-term scalability anywhere they need us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt ICE Barcelona, we will be demonstrating how this foundation supports real operator needs, from platform and turnkey performance to player engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romania stands out as one of the biggest markets in Eastern Europe, with revenue for 2025 expected to come in at US$3.55bn while the compounded annual growth rate for 2025-2030 is expected to be around 1.26%, according to Statisia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Various operators, both domestic and international, compete in the local sector. Notable names include local firm <strong>Superbet<\/strong>, international gaming giant <strong>Evoke<\/strong> via its <strong>Winner.ro<\/strong> brand and Bucharest office, and Czech-founded <strong>Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG)<\/strong>. <strong>FlutterEntertainment<\/strong> also maintains a development HQ for its <strong>Betfair<\/strong> brand in Bucharest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with various other European iGaming jurisdictions, Romania is subject to changing regulations and tax frameworks, however. This has included consideration of a new tax regime in 2025 and a possible overhaul of gambling advertising regulations in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most significantly, there has been\u00a0a huge amount of scrutiny on the ONJN\u2019s activities after it emerged that a lack of oversight from the regulatory body led to a reported figure of \u20ac1bn ($1.17 bn) in tax and authorisation fees not being collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the prospect of significant regulatory changes, various stakeholders remain confident that Romania will continue to stand out as one of Eastern Europe\u2019s top markets over the coming years \u2013 including iGP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company securing a Romanian licence kickstarts 2026 after an active year in 2025..
