The positive update comes as welcome news during what has been a whirlwind few months for the Isle of Man-headquartered\u00a0business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Playtech\u2019s name was splashed across various headlines last year after being accused of secretly commissioning a defamatory smear campaign against rival <strong>Evolution AB<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regarding its finances, Playtech also sold its German B2C arm <strong>HappyBet<\/strong> to <strong>Pferdewetten AG <\/strong>subsidiary <strong>NetX<\/strong> <strong>Betting<\/strong> in May 2025 in a deal expected to add around \u20ac7m ($8.13m) onto its annual turnover figure.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>FTSE 250<\/strong> constituent told the London Stock Exchange today that its adjusted EBITDA includes the operating loss of HappyBet and its share of income from associates, but excludes the contribution from Snaitech for the period it was owned by Playtech in FY25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Snaitech was acquired by Flutter in late April 2025 for \u20ac2.3bn ($2.6bn) after a deal was\u00a0agreed back in September 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m delighted with the strong performance we saw at the end of 2025,\u201d said <strong>Mor Weizer<\/strong>, CEO of Playtech.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have been steadily investing across our business in the Americas for a number of years, and I\u2019m particularly pleased with our recent progress in the US, as the benefits of our hard work start to accelerate and flow through to profitability.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We continue to invest selectively into the US and elsewhere in the Americas, where we see additional growth opportunities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile we remain mindful of wider sector headwinds, I am excited by the momentum we are building and the significant growth opportunity ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Playtech shares stand firm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp; wider sector headwinds referred to by Weizer include gambling tax increases in major markets like the UK and the Netherlands.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Playtech has seen its share price rise by nearly 4% in the first 90 minutes of trading today to 291.26p ($3.52).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, this is a significant drop from 12 months ago, when it stood at around 738p ($8.93). Its stock experienced a notable crash in May after the completion of the <strong>Snaitech<\/strong> transaction and the payment of the special dividend, and then again in October, following Evolution\u2019s accusations.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The business did not deny that it hired Israel private intelligence firm <strong>Black Cube<\/strong> to investigate Evolution, acknowledging that it had hired an \u2018independent business intelligence firm\u2019.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It did stick to its guns though, claiming that Evolution \u201cknowingly and deliberately allowed its games to operate in sanctioned jurisdictions and black markets both before and after the report\u2019s submission\u201d, adding that it \u201cmisled the public\u201d and that \u201cthe truth will prevail\u201d.
