{"id":12583,"date":"2026-03-25T07:59:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T07:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=12583"},"modified":"2026-03-25T07:59:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T07:59:25","slug":"okada-manila-owner-moves-into-digital-segment-with-philweb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/03\/25\/okada-manila-owner-moves-into-digital-segment-with-philweb\/","title":{"rendered":"Okada Manila Owner Moves into Digital Segment with PhilWeb"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The owner of <strong>Okada Manila <\/strong>plans to strengthen its presence in the Philippine market through the launch of a new online casino platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment<\/strong> has confirmed its intention to launch <strong>Okada Play, <\/strong>viewing it as a tool to tap into \u201cnew revenue sources\u201d in the online gaming segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nobuki Sato<\/strong>, President and Chief Operating Officer of Okada Manila, emphasized: \u201cOkada Play marks a strategic step in scaling our digital gaming presence and reinforcing our leadership in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy expanding our platform portfolio through this partnership, we are able to reach new player segments while continuing to elevate the premium digital experience associated with the Okada brand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shift toward the digital segment comes amid weakened financial results for Okada Manila in 2025, driven by a decline in VIP revenue and a reduced flow of international tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025, the integrated resort recorded gross gaming revenue of PHP 27.81 billion ($495 million), more than 20% lower than the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This trend is reflected across the industry: the regulator <strong>PAGCOR<\/strong> reported an 18.12% drop in revenues from its managed casinos to PHP 10.38 billion ($190 million), while licensed operators generated PHP 31.44 billion ($565 million), down 4.93% year-on-year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Okada is entering a digital market that continues to grow: PAGCOR reported revenue of PHP 53.55 billion ($960 million) in 2025, up 9.3% compared to 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe decline in revenues from land-based casinos is largely driven by the gradual change in player behaviour, with more customers opting for digital and online gaming platforms,\u201d explained <strong>Alejandro Tengco<\/strong>, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of PAGCOR, in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its digital expansion, Okada Manila will be supported by the local gaming service provider PhilWeb, which will provide assistance across gaming content, platform technology, customer service, and marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier this year, <strong>PhilWeb<\/strong> was also engaged to provide similar support for <strong>Hann Casino<\/strong>, which aims to expand beyond its brick-and-mortar location in the Pampanga region of the Philippines into the online market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the new partnership, <strong>Brian Ng<\/strong>, President of PhilWeb Corporation, said: \u201cBy working with Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment, Inc., we are enabling the extension of a globally recognised luxury gaming brand into the online space through a robust and scalable platform.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The owner of Okada Manila plans to strengthen its presence in the Philippine market through the launch of a new online casino platform.
