Superbet has established a local team to lead its operations, tasked with ensuring its online products align with local market trends.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team is headed up by <strong>John Kalamvokis<\/strong>, General Manager of Superbet Greece. Kalamvokis has extensive experience of the betting and gaming market in Greece, having previously worked at <strong>Kaizen Gaming<\/strong>, operator of <strong>Betano<\/strong> and <strong>Stoiximan<\/strong>, for over 10 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is an important moment for the Greek gaming landscape, with a powerful brand like Superbet entering the market,\u201d said Kalamvokis. \u201cIn a swift amount of time, we have built a strong group of professionals that is committed to delivering the most exciting and immersive entertainment experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are confident that our innovative products, like Supersocial \u2013 a groundbreaking and engaging social network, will create a game-changing moment for the industry. Today, we are just writing the first chapter of a future success story that will unfold with impactful partnerships and community projects.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Superbet celebrates \u2018thriving market\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">Superbet finds itself launching in a lively local market, overseen by the\u00a0<strong>Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP)<\/strong>, which regulates retail and online sports betting, retail and online casinos, online poker, and lotteries under\u00a0<strong>Law 4002\/2011.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notable local players include <strong>OPAP<\/strong>, formerly state-owned and now merged with global gaming and lotteries giant <strong>Allwyn<\/strong>. Other notable players include <strong>Novibet<\/strong>, which was also nearly acquired by Allwyn until the deal was recently called off, as well as Kaizen Gaming and Swedish multinational <strong>Betsson<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGreece is a mature and thriving market, thus we are proud to finally be here,\u201d said <strong>Adam Lamentowicz, <\/strong>Chief Commercial Officer \u2013 CEE at Super.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis goes beyond a typical market entry, it is a long-term commitment to build the country\u2019s most engaging entertainment ecosystem and bring people closer through excitement and a shared passion for sporting competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Superbet\u2019s entry into Greece comes amid a government campaign against the illegal gambling sector, spearheaded by Minister of National Economy and Finance, <strong>Kyriakos Pierrakakis<\/strong>. The Minister is leading a legislative charge to overhaul\u00a0Greece\u2019s laws around black market betting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also comes amid legislative and regulatory conversations in the firm\u2019s home market of Romania. This has seen the gambling age raised from 18 to 21, and local authorities granted more powers to close or restrict retail betting in their areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Greek launch continues a transformative period for Super, which previously traded under the same name as Superbet before a rebrand last year.
