Meridian Holdings,<\/strong> a global operator and technology provider in over 20 online sports betting and gaming markets worldwide, named Dejan Petkovi\u0107<\/strong>, a former football player and the most beloved foreign player in Brazilian football history, the Company’s Global Brand Ambassador.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the partnership, Petkovi\u0107 will launch Pet TV<\/strong> \u2013 a multimedia content platform focused on sport, culture, and entertainment \u2013 with Meridian Holdings\u2019 largest subsidiary and flagship brand, Meridianbet<\/strong>, serving as its founding strategic partner, just a few weeks ahead of the World Cup 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform represents a new chapter in Petkovi\u0107’s engagement with Brazilian and global audiences and extends the Company\u2019s brand presence beyond traditional sports betting into lifestyle and entertainment content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petkovi\u0107 arrived in Brazil in 1997 from Real Madrid<\/strong>, in a move that would define his life and career. Widely known in Brazil by his iconic nickname \u201cPet\u201d<\/strong>, he spent his prime playing years there, scoring 167 goals across seven clubs, including Flamengo, Vasco da Gama, Fluminense, Vit\u00f3ria, Santos, and Atl\u00e9tico Mineiro.<\/strong> He won three Bola de Prata<\/strong> awards as arguably the nation\u2019s best midfielder and led Flamengo to the 2009 Brazilian Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His 89th-minute free kick for Flamengo in 2001 remains one of the most celebrated moments in Brazilian club football history. He was inducted into the Maracan\u00e3 Walk of Fame<\/em> \u2013 one of only three foreigners ever to receive that honor, alongside Eus\u00e9bio<\/strong> and Franz Beckenbauer<\/strong> \u2013 and was named an Honorary Citizen of Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement follows Meridian Holdings’ strongest quarter on record: in Q1 2026, the Company reported revenue of $50.1 million, up 17% year-over-year, and returned to GAAP profitability with net income of $2.2 million. Adjusted EBITDA reached $6.3 million, up 26% year-over-year and ahead of guidance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
