Lithuania\u2019s gambling market<\/strong> recorded gross gaming revenue (GGR) of \u20ac65.7m in Q1 2026, a 6% increase year-on-year driven primarily by online activity. Digital channels accounted for 76% of total revenue as land-based income declined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New data<\/a> from the Lithuanian Gaming Control Authority<\/strong> shows that online activity continued to drive that growth, while land-based gambling declined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital channels accounted for 76% of total market revenue in Q1. Online gross gaming revenue reached \u20ac50.1m, a 13.5% year-on-year increase, while land-based revenue fell 11.9% to \u20ac15.6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performance varied markedly between products. Online betting revenue dropped by almost 20% to \u20ac8.7m. Among land-based offerings, table game revenue increased 6.5% to \u20ac3.8m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lottery activity showed moderate growth in turnover. Lottery tickets worth \u20ac40.9m were sold in the quarter, up 3.6% year-on-year, while operator payouts rose 11.2% to \u20ac23.9m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Lithuania has reaffirmed<\/a> the use of \u2018mandatory player cards\u2019 <\/strong>as the cornerstone reform of its overhaul of gambling laws to be fully implemented by 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new framework, all customers who engage with gambling services of 18 licences land-based casinos, 50 arcade halls and 10 online licences must use a personalised gambling card linked directly to their player profile and national ID \u2014 a mandatory requirement that will be implemented via a phased approach to the Gaming Law from 2027 to 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The framework combines identity verification, spending oversight and responsible gambling protections within a single system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
