{"id":13326,"date":"2026-06-24T08:14:46","date_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=13326"},"modified":"2026-06-24T08:15:10","modified_gmt":"2026-06-24T07:15:10","slug":"super-technologies-strengthens-its-position-through-the-acquisition-of-crafting-technologies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/06\/24\/super-technologies-strengthens-its-position-through-the-acquisition-of-crafting-technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"Super Technologies Strengthens Its Position Through the Acquisition of Crafting Technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Super Technologies<\/strong> has agreed to acquire Romanian software development company <strong>Crafting Technologies<\/strong> as it looks to establish a larger technology hub in Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject to customary approvals, the deal will strengthen Super\u2019s European technology footprint, adding Romania to its growing network of development hubs across Croatia, Spain, the Netherlands, the UK and Brazil.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company, which is headquartered in the country\u2019s capital of Bucharest, now employs more than 900 software engineers and developers across its technology operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the expansion, Super plans to create an initial 50 new roles in Cluj-Napoca while integrating Crafting\u2019s engineering team into the business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The acquisition also brings Crafting\u2019s internal talent academy, which focuses on developing and upskilling software engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gabriel Bota<\/strong>, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crafting Technologies, commented: \u201cOver the past 10 years, through Crafting Software and now Crafting Technologies, we have built a team focused on engineering quality, trust, and long-term partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhat started as a small group of friends, passionate engineers, evolved into a company delivering critical systems for high-growth businesses. We\u2019re excited about continuing to grow the Cluj technology hub together and bringing the same culture and mindset that shaped Crafting since day one.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Super building through difficult circumstances&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Super has been on the path to expansion across Europe since its \u20ac1.3bn ($1,41 bn) refinancing in 2025.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company, spearheaded by Chief Executive Officer <strong>Sacha Dragic<\/strong>, rebranded as Super Technologies from <strong>Superbet<\/strong> at the end of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, it has secured a deal with Sportradar for both its European and Brazilian operations, and launched in Greece.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This deal for Crafting Technologies is not its first in 2026, having bought out <strong>Maxbet Online<\/strong> in February to become the definitive market leader within Romania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, it does mark a tech-focused acquisition as opposed to one for a traditional sportsbook.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is not too dissimilar to other M&amp;A activity in the gambling industry this year. It follows sports\u00a0software provider <strong>Genius Sports\u2019 <\/strong>\u00a3882m ($1,12bn) purchase of digital sports and gaming media network <strong>Legend<\/strong>, which also occurred in February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leadership figures at Super have spoken to <em>SBC News<\/em> on the dangers of Romania\u2019s unlicensed market following the government\u2019s overhaul of retail gambling regulations, but the business still clearly sees opportunity in its home country.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The firm has said that it is still set on \u201cbuilding a diversified, technology-led entertainment business\u201d and this latest deal reaffirms that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Albert Simsensohn<\/strong>, Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Super, added: \u201cWe are confident that Romania\u2019s mature and competitive technology ecosystem provides access to specialized engineering capabilities essential for Super\u2019s future roadmap.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMoreover, the city of Cluj-Napoca offers a vibrant environment of innovation combined with operational efficiency and proximity to our regional hubs.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cCrafting Technologies will bring a proven internal talent academy that develops engineers and upskills existing talent, strengthening our long-term capacity and supporting the execution of our technology roadmap.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Super Technologies has agreed to acquire Romanian software development company Crafting Technologies as it looks to establish a larger technology hub in Romania.
