{"id":13380,"date":"2026-06-30T12:17:42","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:17:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=13380"},"modified":"2026-06-30T12:17:44","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:17:44","slug":"mga-warns-of-false-use-of-its-name-by-gambling-platforms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/06\/30\/mga-warns-of-false-use-of-its-name-by-gambling-platforms\/","title":{"rendered":"MGA Warns of False Use of Its Name by Gambling Platforms"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) <\/strong>has distanced itself from an operator claiming to be linked to the European football teams <strong>Juventus and Benfica.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two URLs for the operator <strong>OP7 <\/strong>were among six that the MGA said were acting in a \u2018false and misleading\u2019 manner by referring to the regulator on their platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both of OP7\u2019s sites include the MGA moniker, alongside <strong>Curacao Gaming, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA)<\/strong> and the crests of Juventus and Benfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although no mention of OP7 can be found on either team\u2019s websites, OP7 Sports did release a video on Instagram that appears to show Juventus players wishing fans a Happy Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both sites also state that they have the suitably vague \u2018offshore licence NO 16-0025\u2019, but there is no indication of what jurisdiction this is referring to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online gambling is expressly prohibited in Mainland China, and the country\u2019s government has previously warned that engaging in gambling \u2018leads to a path of no return, including financial ruin, family breakdown, and even death\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A web of deceit<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other URLs listed by the MGA are ufabet.black, playtok.bet, slotblastcasheu.vip and www.vulkanworld.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ufabet describes itself as a Thai football betting website, but also provides wagering on a range of sports and online casino games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The platform claims that it is overseen by \u2018the internationally recognised Malta Gaming Authority oversees UFABET through its licensing\u2019, but does not include a licence code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Playtok is a Philippine site that has borrowed design elements from TikTok. It displays both the Curacao Gaming Authority and MGA logos, but there is no mention of a <strong>PAGCOR <\/strong>licence, which would be required to operate in the Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vulkan World offers a range of language options, however, the platform\u2019s chat function is in Ukrainian.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the licence link takes you to a page that claims that it is registered under <strong>Genesis Global Limited<\/strong> and licensed under the MGA licence MGA\/B2C\/314\/2015. However, a search of the MGA\u2019s registry fails to find the code in question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Genesis Global Limited was previously registered under MGA\/CRP\/314\/2015, but the company\u2019s licence was cancelled in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly, the same MGA\/B2C\/314\/2015 code was previously cited by Vavada Ltd, for which the MGA issued a similar warning about in February 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A long-running issue<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of the MGA name and logo has been a persistent issue for several years now, with the first notice issued by the MGA regarding such a problem dating back to 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last month, the regulator issued a notice about dragonia-casino.at\/ and dragonia-de.de\/, adding to similar lists released in January and February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In each instance, the MGA stated: \u201cThe MGA would like to remind consumers not to utilise services provided by an entity unless they have ascertained that the entity in question is authorised to provide such services by the MGA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe activities of unlicensed entities are unregulated and do not provide the necessary safeguards delineated by virtue of the framework, making transactions with such entities risky for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has distanced itself from an operator claiming to be linked to the European football teams Juventus and Benfica.
