The key takeaway from the report \u2014 the revenues on the European gambling market in 2022 grew by 23% and amounted to <strong>EUR 108.5 billion<\/strong>, online gambling revenues continued to grow steadily, reaching <strong>EUR 38.2 billion<\/strong> in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Forbes<\/strong> magazine published their 36th annual ranking of the world\u2019s richest people. This year, although the list has changed significantly due to the difficult economic situation in the world, the war in Europe, the consequences of the global pandemic, it still had a place to accommodate 23 representatives of the global gambling industry. <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/22\/23-gambling-executives-have-made-the-forbes-wealthiest-list\/\">Click here<\/a> to see who made the list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <strong>Russian Federation<\/strong>, the National Assembly adopted a bill allowing the government to increase the amount of deductions it takes from the sports betting operators\u2019 revenues towards funding the development of children\u2019s, youth and mass sports in the country. CEOs of three biggest sports betting operators in Russia <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/21\/fonbet-ceo-an-increase-of-the-govt-deductions-may-lead-to-an-outflow-of-players-to-offshore-betting-websites\/\">shared their thoughts<\/a> on the decision made by the country\u2019s government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PartnerMatrix<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/21\/vahe-khalatyan-was-appointed-a-new-ceo-at-partnermatrix\/\">announced<\/a> the appointment of <strong>Vahe Khalatyan<\/strong> as the company\u2019s new CEO. Mr. Khalatyan formerly served as Chief Technical Officer and over the years played a key role in the company\u2019s growth and success. The appointment follows the departure of the former CEO Levon Nikoghosyan, who left the company to pursue personal projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>AstroPay<\/strong> is an online payment service that enables people to make online purchases using their local payment methods and in their local currency. In a recent SBC podcast, <strong>Mikael Lijtenstein<\/strong>, CEO at AstroPay, <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/23\/podcast-review-astropay-ceo-on-the-global-expansion-and-payment-localisation\/\">shared<\/a> his company\u2019s global expansion plans, product localization, and how they recently launched their new product \u2014 AstroPay Visa debit card.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>STATSCORE<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/23\/statscore-added-georgian-to-the-list-of-available-languages-on-the-platform\/\">added Georgian language<\/a> as a new language at its flagship sports scores platform. Widgets for the flagship products LivematchPro and PrematchPro are available in common languages \u200b\u200bsuch as English, Chinese, French and Spanish, as well as less common Latvian, Hebrew and Greek.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Betlive<\/strong> betting company <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/22\/betlive-to-increase-their-support-for-sports-in-georgia\/\">became the official sponsor<\/a> of three sports federations in Georgia \u2014 Georgian Rugby Union, Georgian Judo Federation, and Georgian Tennis Federation. <strong>Betlive<\/strong> is certain that the private sector involvement is essential for sports development. The company hopes their example will serve as an incentive for other companies, which will have a significant positive impact on sports in Georgia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sports Information Services<\/strong> (SIS) <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/23\/entain-william-hill-betfred-to-sell-their-shares-in-sis\/\">was put up for sale<\/a> after a decision made by its shareholders, among which are <strong>Entain<\/strong>, <strong>William Hill<\/strong> and <strong>Betfred<\/strong>\u2019s founder Fred Dawn. <strong>SIS<\/strong> is a provider of horse-, greyhound-, virtual horse racing content, and eSports. The company works with over 400 clients in 50 countries, and SIS partners with well-known bookmakers such as Bet365, Unibet, Betsson, Sportsbet and Pointsbet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OneFootball<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/24\/onefootball-lays-off-150-employees\/\">is looking to reduce<\/a> its headcount from 470 to 320. This will make the company lose over a third of its employees within a few months. <strong>OneFootball<\/strong> is a platform-based football media company with live scores, statistics, and news from 200 leagues in 12 different languages covered by a newsroom located in Berlin. Their monthly active audience has 130+ million fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>National Lottery<\/strong>, the new lottery operator in Malta, <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/24\/the-national-lottery-of-malta-signed-mou-with-large-retailer\/\">signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/a> with <strong>The Convenience Shop<\/strong> to distribute instant scratch cards for the lottery operator. <strong>National Lottery<\/strong> took over the management of the Malta Lottery in July 2022. It plans to launch instant scratch cards under the <strong>SCRATCHIZ<\/strong> brand in the second quarter of this year that will be sold through a network of 86 convenience stores in the archipelago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CT Interactive<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/22\/ct-interactive-signs-distribution-deal-with-qtech-games\/\">signed<\/a> a distribution agreement with <strong>QTech Games<\/strong>. Under the agreement\u2019s terms, CT Interactive\u2019s content will become available on QTech Games platform, primarily targeting the Asian market, as well as Africa, Europe and Latin America. CT Interactive is a leading content provider with a portfolio of over 200 games designed for a variety of player groups. The company is accredited in 18 markets and is actively working to increase this number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The UK government<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/24\/english-premier-league-clubs-to-voluntary-ditch-front-of-shirt-gambling-ads\/\">looks to agree<\/a> a deal with the English Premier League which would see the gambling sponsors\u2019 names taken off the front of football shirts.
