{"id":13645,"date":"2026-07-30T08:31:26","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T07:31:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=13645"},"modified":"2026-07-30T08:31:28","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T07:31:28","slug":"ballys-intralot-raises-261-7m-for-evoke-takeover-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/07\/30\/ballys-intralot-raises-261-7m-for-evoke-takeover-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"Bally\u2019s Intralot Raises \u00a3261.7m for evoke Takeover Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bally\u2019s Intralot <\/strong>has secured a senior debt note facility to support its acquisition plans, with a new financial pipeline established amid the ongoing takeover of multinational betting firm <strong>evoke.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The company has informed the <strong>Euronext Athens (ATSE)<\/strong> exchange that it had secured a senior secured sterling term facilities agreement of \u00a3261.7m with institutional lenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This loan will be used for what Bally\u2019s Intralot calls \u201cgeneral corporate and working capital purposes\u201d, including acquisition plans and efforts to refinance \u201cother indebtedness\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bally\u2019s Intralot carries significant debt. As outlined in its latest financial statement, the company had total debt of \u20ac1.75bn and adjusted net debt of \u20ac1.49bn as of 31 March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of the company\u2019s debt stems from its initial formation in July last year when Greek lottery tech company <strong>Intralot<\/strong> acquired the Bally\u2019s International Interactive division from US giant Bally\u2019s Corporation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bally\u2019s subsequently became a stakeholder in the combined entity, and <strong>Robeson Reeves<\/strong>, Bally\u2019s Corporation\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, took on the same leadership role at the newly formed Bally\u2019s Intralot in November 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To support the Bally\u2019s Interactive takeover and an effective merger between the two companies, Intralot secured a \u00a3400m six-year term loan from institutional lenders and a \u00a3200m four-year amortising loan from Greek banks, thereby adding to its debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Debt was also a huge talking point in the lead-up to Bally\u2019s Intralot\u2019s decision to make a firm bid of 52p per evoke share on 5 June, valuing the LSE-listed business and owner of <strong>Wiliam Hill, Mr Green <\/strong>and the <strong>888<\/strong> online betting and gaming brands at \u00a3243.1m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Deal negotiations saw Bally\u2019s Intralot secure a private credit line of \u00a3900m, backed by <strong>TPG Credit, Oaktree Capital Management and Oak Hill Advisors (OHA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The credit line will be used to support the integration of evoke brands and assets \u2013 in which \u00a3180-to-\u00a3200m are outlined in initial synergies from the merger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Bally\u2019s Intralot remains confident<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as the billions in debt carried by Bally\u2019s Intralot, evoke has its own burdens.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The firm\u2019s 2025 full-year financials showed net debt of just under \u00a31.9bn, with debt obligations stemming from a \u20ac450m Senior Secured Floating Rate Note and a $575m (\u00a3433m) Term B loan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to <em>SBC News<\/em> and other industry media shortly after the evoke announcement, Reeves was adamant that evoke\u2019s debt is \u2018non-recourse\u2019 to Bally\u2019s Intralot and that the firm and its shareholders are exposed to a low level of risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI guess you could argue that shareholders in Bally\u2019s Intralot carry low downside risk if we were to fail, but huge upside benefit if we\u2019re successful, and I\u2019m very confident that we\u2019ll be successful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perhaps giving the firm further confidence in its prospects post-evoke merger is the fact that German multinational <strong>Deutsche Bank<\/strong>, one of the biggest banks in the world, has bought some of its shares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bank purchased 1,425,000 Bally\u2019s Intralot shares at an average price of \u20ac1.088608 euro per share for a total value of \u20ac1.5m between 16-24 July.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While this amounts to just 0.334% of the company\u2019s total share capital, the fact that a $66bn bank is backing its shares may give Bally\u2019s Intralot confidence as it presses ahead with both the evoke takeover and multinational lottery partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At present, the board of evoke is expected to vote on the Bally\u2019s Intralot takeover on Tuesday 18 August.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Don\u2019t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bally\u2019s Intralot has secured a senior debt note facility to support its acquisition plans, with a new financial pipeline established amid the ongoing takeover of multinational betting firm evoke.
