{"id":13807,"date":"2026-08-18T11:32:46","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T10:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=13807"},"modified":"2026-08-18T11:32:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T10:32:49","slug":"fortuna-entertainment-completes-acquisition-of-topsport-and-expands-its-presence-in-lithuania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/08\/18\/fortuna-entertainment-completes-acquisition-of-topsport-and-expands-its-presence-in-lithuania\/","title":{"rendered":"Fortuna Entertainment Completes Acquisition of TOPsport and Expands Its Presence in Lithuania"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Fortuna Entertainment Group (FEG) <\/strong>has completed its acquisition of <strong>TOPsport<\/strong>, advancing its commercial interests in the Baltics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last March, FEG declared to the markets that it had agreed to acquire a majority\u00a070% stake in TOPsport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deal that would see the CEE and Balkan gambling group take a podium place in Lithuania\u2019s retail and online gambling sectors.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FEG confirmed the closing of its undisclosed transaction on <em>LinkedIn<\/em>, describing the deal as the beginning of a \u201cnew chapter\u201d for its business in the Baltics.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heritage gambling group stated: \u201cas the leading operator in Lithuania, TOPsport has built a strong market position, a trusted brand, and a track record of excellence. We are proud to add this gold-medal performer to the FEG portfolio.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Backed by parent company <strong>Penta Investments,<\/strong> the acquisition provides Fortuna with its first direct presence in the Baltic region and continues the group\u2019s expansion beyond CEE markets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Founded in Kaunas in 2002, TOPsport operates a major online sportsbook and casino platform alongside a network of 54 retail locations in Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TOPsport reported EBITDA of more than \u20ac65m($75.3m) in 2025, maintaining a margin above 50%, while the business has achieved compound annual growth of approximately 30% since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chasing CEE and Baltic top spot<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As of 2025, FEG executes a new commercial strategy under the leadership of CEO\u00a0Dieter John,\u00a0supported by Penta Investments, with the aim of becoming the highest-valued Central and Eastern Markets operator of European gambling.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FEG enlarges its portfolio as TOPsport joins the ranks of <strong>Casa Pariurilor <\/strong>in Romania, <strong>PSK<\/strong> in Croatia and Montenegro-headquartered <strong>LOB<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dealmakers cited confidence that FEG and TOPsport will increase market share in Lithuania as competitors adjust to tougher economic and compliance demands such as GGR taxes increasing to 22% and Lithuania lifting its gambling age to 21, joining the European ranks of Belgium, Greece and Estonia (casinos and slots).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further reforms will tighten advertising and player-protection requirements as Lithuania transitions towards its revised gambling framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Czech Bond for expansion\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Taking control of TopSport, FEG said: \u201cThis milestone marks another important step in our growth journey, strengthening our presence in the region and creating new opportunities to share expertise, drive innovation, and deliver exceptional experiences for our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The acquisition of TopSport is secured by FEG raising a CZK 1.7bn ($81.0m) bond issuance this summer. Proceeds of its bond with private investors on the Prague Stock Exchange saw the total issuance surpass the initial target of CZK 1bn ($48.6m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bond is set at a five-year 7% annual rate.
