{"id":13811,"date":"2026-08-19T08:49:58","date_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:49:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=13811"},"modified":"2026-08-19T08:50:04","modified_gmt":"2026-08-19T07:50:04","slug":"ballys-intralot-moves-closer-to-evoke-buyout","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2026\/08\/19\/ballys-intralot-moves-closer-to-evoke-buyout\/","title":{"rendered":"Bally\u2019s Intralot Moves Closer to evoke Buyout"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The majority of eligible shareholders in <strong>William Hill, 888 and Mr Green<\/strong> owner <strong>evoke <\/strong>have agreed to a buyout by <strong>Bally\u2019s Intralot.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both firms confirmed they were in talks of a potential acquisition in April, with the total bid price of \u00a3243.1m subsequently unveiled in June, alongside the terms and conditions of a recommended all-share acquisition by Intralot being agreed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 17 August, evoke announced the results of its General Meeting, where 99.63% of evoke shares voted in favor of the acquisition.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Court Meeting was also held today, with 30 of the <strong>Scheme Shareholders<\/strong> voting for, and only one voting against Intralot\u2019s full takeover of evoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking ahead, both firms reported that a number of antitrust and regulatory approvals have now been satisfied, and they expect the Court hearing to sanction the acquisition in either Q4 2026 or the first quarter of 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The announcement from evoke comes on the same day as Bally\u2019s reporting improved quarterly revenue year-over-year, going up from $658m to $792m (\u00a3584m) \u2013 a 20.5% increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Adjusted EBITDAR in the second quarter was expectedly affected by the Remote Gaming Duty increase in the UK from 21% to 40%, but Chief Executive Officer <strong>Robeson Reeves<\/strong> assured shareholders that the evoke acquisition represents a \u2018clear pathway towards growth\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe gross negative impact of the UK gaming tax change on our B2C segment EBITDAR was approximately $39m in the quarter,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe remain firmly on track against the margin management commitments we previously disclosed to investors.
