Finnish monopoly operator Veikkaus<\/strong> reported an operating profit of EUR 1.07 billion in 2022. This follows from the company’s recently published report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operator indicated land-based business returning to pre-pandemic levels. Throughout the year, all Veikkaus gaming halls and two casinos directly owned by the company remained open for the first time since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the documentation, the company’s gross gaming revenue was 164.6 million euros, an increase of 15.1% compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenues from the most popular game, Veikkaus Lotto, fell 7.9% to \u20ac149.8 million. However, Eurojackpot revenues rose 18.9% to \u20ac151.1 million thanks to a reform to draw every Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sports betting revenue fell 16.9% to \u20ac123.8 million. This decline in revenue was partly due to the mandatory annual loss cap of \u20ac15,000 introduced for all customers at the beginning of February. However, from mid-June, players can apply to remove this restriction, thereby reducing the loss of gambling income during the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
