An Essex scammer has been sentenced to five years in prison for participating in an illegal activity against bet365<\/strong> that swindled the bookmaker out of more than \u00a3236,000 using fake names and abusing bonuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

John Howard<\/strong> has opened over 1,000 bet365 accounts using various aliases to bypass deposit restrictions and take advantage of various signup bonuses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It became known in court that Howard and his accomplices used the information of people who voluntarily provided their data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is unclear when the man began running his scam, but Essex police first became aware of it in 2018. Howard was subsequently found guilty by a jury on bet365 and Santander fraud charges, but acquitted of money laundering charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
