The International Esports Federation<\/strong> (IESF<\/strong>) has announced a significant expansion of the women’s CS:GO tournament at the Esports World Championship Finals, which will take place in Iasi, Romania from August 24 to September 4, 2023. The four-team kick-off tournament for Women’s CS:GO at the 2022 WE Championship<\/strong> in Bali, Indonesia has received positive feedback, prompting the expansion of the lineup at future events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IESF believes that eSports should not be limited to gender and welcomes the participation of women in the industry. That is why the federation pays special attention to women’s eSports tournaments and every year works to provide women with the opportunity to show their abilities and take part in tournaments on an equal basis with men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The introduction of the Women’s CS:GO Tournament at WE 2022 was a historic moment for female gamers. This attracted a large number of viewers and was a huge step towards greater inclusion of women in esports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IESF is committed to empowering female gamers in all competitions, and the Women’s CS:GO Tournament allows the best women’s teams in the world to compete at the highest level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IESF President Vlad Marinescu<\/strong> said: \u00abWe are thrilled to announce the expansion of the women\u2019s CS:GO tournament at this year\u2019s World Esports Championships. This reflects the progress we have made in making eSports more inclusive for all. We can\u2019t wait to see what these incredible teams will bring to this year\u2019s competition. IESF strongly believes in removing barriers to access for female gamers, and providing them with more opportunities to shine on the world\u2019s biggest stage.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In May and June, the IESF will begin hosting regional qualifiers for the WE Championships. The top ten women’s CS:GO teams will have the opportunity to play in the finals, which will be held in August. In addition, the IESF is partnering with organizations including Women in Games<\/strong> and the Girl Gamer Esports<\/strong> Festival to create and promote a safe and fair environment for women in the esports industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
