SCGO<\/strong> has received an official online gambling license in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company, registered in Malta, has successfully obtained a license from the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA)<\/strong>, which came into force on June 23rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCGO now has the ability to offer its gaming platform to players in the Netherlands for the next five years, until June 22, 2028. It is not yet clear which of its brands the company will operate under.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the new license, SCGO becomes the 24th legal online gambling operator in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main business of the company is associated with the Vbet brand, which currently operates under MGA license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This month, the KSA made an “urgent appeal” to the Dutch Minister of Legal Protection, Franc Weerwind<\/strong>, for changes to the technical aspects of the oversight of the Remote Gaming Act (KOA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Franc Weerwind, who is currently in charge of conducting the 2024 assessment of the Remote Gaming Act (KOA), was asked to amend the law to allow the KSA to \u201chave access to false ID documents for the purpose of enforcement and compliance.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KSA requires authorities to create false identity documents for monitoring purposes deemed necessary to ensure full compliance by KOA gambling licensees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the National Identification Agency handles the processing of fake IDs, but the KSA is requesting that a legal mechanism be provided for their use by the KSA. This is necessary to ensure effective monitoring and control of the activities of licensed operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The KSA are pushing for an amendment that will provide access to the necessary identification data, allowing seamless access to the websites of gambling providers, thereby ensuring more efficient and effective oversight of legitimate providers and enforcement of illegal organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
