United Fight Championship (UFC) <\/strong>has announced the introduction of an innovative ProhiBet<\/strong> system designed to ensure fairness and transparency in ongoing betting on fighter fights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is a joint initiative of the American organizations UFC, Odds On Compliance and U.S. Integrity<\/strong>, the last  of which is the UFC’s betting partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UFC’s introductory video for fighters highlights the active detection of bets on UFC fights that can be placed by anyone with access to sensitive information about fighters, including the fighters themselves, their managers, coaches, medical personnel, relatives and other participants with subsequent sharing of this information with the regulatory authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the main reasons for the introduction of this measure, which is also referred to in the introductory video, was the scandalous fight between Darrick Minner <\/strong>and Nuerdanbek Shailan<\/strong>, which took place on November 5, 2022. Minner entered the octagon with an injury and was quickly defeated. The fight was accompanied by suspicious bookmaking activity, which led to the initiation of an FBI<\/strong> investigation. During the investigation, it was found that Darrick\u2019s coach, who also placed bets, could not have been unaware of the injury. This, coupled with an unusual series of bets on Minner losing, led to the fighter and his trainer being ejected from the championship. The inquiry into this matter is still in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UFC video emphasizes that \u201cany bets on UFC fights made by affiliates, whether made personally or through a third party, will be subject to penalties, disqualification, or termination of contract for violators.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
