{"id":4196,"date":"2024-01-05T14:27:42","date_gmt":"2024-01-05T14:27:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=4196"},"modified":"2024-01-05T14:27:43","modified_gmt":"2024-01-05T14:27:43","slug":"mga-extends-agreement-with-alderney-gambling-control-commission-what-does-this-mean-for-the-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/01\/05\/mga-extends-agreement-with-alderney-gambling-control-commission-what-does-this-mean-for-the-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"MGA Extends Agreement with Alderney Gambling Control Commission: What Does This Mean for the Industry?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)<\/strong> has renewed its cooperation agreement, known as the <strong>Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)<\/strong>, with the <strong>Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two regulators first entered into a Memorandum of Understanding in 2013, opening up new opportunities for improved partnerships and collaboration between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration between the MGA and the AGCC plays a key role in adapting to the global nature of online gambling and continues to enforce the terms of their agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carl Brincat<\/strong>, MGA CEO, said: \u201cThe renewal of the MoU with the AGCC continues to reaffirm our shared commitment towards supervising a safe and responsible gaming ecosystem across the board\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MGA and AGCC, as supervisory authorities, are responsible for issuing licenses, monitoring the activities of companies and responding to violations of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Andrew Gellatly<\/strong>, AGCC Executive Director, said: \u201cWith this MOU, we look forward to continuing and strengthening our valued collaboration with the MGA, to the benefit of both players and stakeholders.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Memorandum of Understanding is not legally binding document, but it reflects the serious intentions of both parties by establishing a common understanding and framework for cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the AGCC, the organization was established in May 2000 and has currently issued over 70 licenses, partnering with over 20 gaming providers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AGCC focuses on online gambling licensing and also works with hosting providers and major service provider partners.
