DAZN<\/strong> has announced that the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) <\/strong>is bringing its live streaming service Courtside 1891 <\/strong>to their platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To improve visibility of FIBA \u200b\u200bBasketball World Cup games and qualifying matches, DAZN is partnering with FIBA \u200b\u200band Two Circles<\/strong> to introduce Courtside 1891 as a standalone offering on its platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the World Cup matches and qualifiers available on DAZN, games from the Continental and Youth Basketball World Cups will also be featured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Users can also view live and on-demand content from club competitions in various regions, including the Basketball Champions League, EuroLeague Women, East Asian Super League, Endesa League, NBL, Japan B League and other domestic leagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have had a long and collaborative relationship with FIBA, and I look forward to working ever more closely with them and other partners to bring this premium action to basketball fans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In its latest updates this year, DAZN announced that it will be lifting its paywall on all live streaming and women’s football content. Viewers can now watch Women’s Champions League matches for free until the end of the season, as well as games in the Frauen Bundesliga, Liga F, D1 Arkema and Serie A Femminile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of these deals were announced after DAZN announced that 2023 would be a transformative year, following the successful launch of the DAZN Bet brand the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new agreement with FIBA, which provides DAZN content through both paid premium packages and free packages, the foundations of this partnership lie in a long-term relationship between the two parties that began in 2016. At that time, DAZN and FIBA \u200b\u200bformed a joint venture aimed at optimizing the B2B distribution of media products from international basketball organizations through FIBA \u200b\u200bMedia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the new agreement, FIBA \u200b\u200bplans to leverage DAZN’s global reach and technology to expand direct-to-consumer distribution and develop innovative products for Courtside 1891.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This agreement with DAZN comes at a time of growing digital development for FIBA, as evidenced by record social media activity. FIBA’s social media platforms such as X, YouTube, Facebook and others saw 99.4% year-on-year growth in 2023, with the total number of members reaching a new high of 2.4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frank Leenders<\/strong>, Director General of FIBA Media and Marketing Services, concluded: \u201cFIBA is very pleased to announce this partnership with DAZN, which represents an important extension of the distribution and visibility of FIBA\u2019s major events through the Courtside 1891 product. Furthermore, this addition to the already expansive partnership between FIBA and DAZN is an example of the synergies we have achieved together. DAZN is the global leader in sports D2C and they continue to recognise the undoubted value of both international and club basketball.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first FIBA \u200b\u200bmatches to be broadcast on DAZN, the US and French women’s national teams will compete in this month’s FIBA \u200b\u200bWomen’s Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament, as well as the 2025 FIBA \u200b\u200bContinental Cup Free Qualifiers featuring Courtside 1891.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
