The President of the Association ‘Self-Regulatory Organization of Bookmakers of Kazakhstan,’ Rauan Kenzhali<\/strong>, called offshore operators a threat to the country’s legal gambling industry. He made this statement at an expert meeting in parliament, as reported by Inbusiness.kz.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the turnover of unlicensed gambling companies is more than 1 trillion tenge (over $2.2 billion) annually. Kenzhali expressed concern about risky financial transactions, aggressive advertising of gambling and the involvement of minors in gambling associated with the activities of these operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a more effective fight against illegal companies, the Association proposes to use a ‘white list’ system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenzhali notes that work is currently being carried out according to the \u201cblack list\u201d principle, where offshore operators are blocked only by court decision. He points out the shortcomings of this system due to the fact that the state begins to respond only after establishing the fact of a violation, which can take considerable time before blocking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenzhali’s proposed \u201cwhite\u201d list system automatically recognizes all operators not included in this \u201cwhite\u201d list as violators of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Head of the Association, this approach will improve the situation for payment organizations, making it easier to verify transactions. Previously, it was reported that Kazakh schoolchildren visited bookmaker sites directly during lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
