BetMGM<\/strong> has been announced as the official training wear partner of Tottenham Hotspur<\/strong> from the start of the 2024\/25 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to SportBusiness<\/strong>, the company has signed a long-term agreement with the Premier League team that will see its logo appear on the men’s first team training kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means BetMGM will replace current sponsor Getir, the Turkish food delivery service which has entered into a three-year deal with the club from the 2021\/22 season and is the first training kit sponsor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In light of the financial difficulties of the Turkish company, which announced its decision to cease operations in the US and Europe, it is not surprising to see a reduction in spending on sponsorship deals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move comes as the Premier League has expressed its intention to remove gambling logos from matchday shirts from the 2026\/27 season, which could also impact sponsorship deals across the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the review of the Gambling Act in the UK, the sponsorship of sports betting generated widespread debate. Despite the move away from direct deals, clubs are still allowed to represent gambling brands in other areas beyond 2026\/27, including LED advertising, cover rights and training kit sponsorships. This shows that betting sponsorship has become a significant source of revenue for UK football clubs, with many Premier League clubs having partners in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aston Villa are one of the clubs making the most of the time before the betting sponsorship ban comes into effect. They recently signed a two-year deal with Greek operator Betano, which promises to pay the club \u00a320m ($27 million) per season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BetMGM is also active in the world of the Premier League, having partnerships with several clubs such as Newcastle United, Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers. This strategic move reflects their desire to capitalize as much as possible on the popularity and reach of the league.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
