The Ukrainian Gambling Commission<\/strong> in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU),<\/strong> ordered the blocking of 433 illegal gaming sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 23, the National Center for Operational and Technical Management of Telecommunications Networks of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine <\/strong>issued Order No. 415\/2220. The order forces electronic communications service providers to block access to 433 illegal gaming sites through their recursive DNS servers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These measures follow a previous directive issued on April 18, initiated by the Gambling Commission and the Security Service of Ukraine. That directive ordered providers to restrict access to more than 500 domain names and their subdomains involved in illegal gambling activities. The ongoing efforts demonstrate the commitment of the Ukrainian authorities to eradicate illegal gambling activities in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stepping up efforts to combat unregulated gambling<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the Gambling Commission has significantly stepped up its fight against unregulated gambling. At the beginning of this year, access to 580 illegal gaming sites was restricted. These measures highlight the seriousness of the fight against illegal gambling, aimed at protecting the public from unregulated and potentially harmful games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine <\/strong>recently introduced a complete ban on gambling and advertising by betting operators pending the adoption of a new anti-gambling law, which is being considered in parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cabinet of Ministers also amended the resolution \u201cSome issues of countering the negative consequences of gambling on the Internet\u201d, limiting the places where gambling operators and bookmakers can place advertisements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Legislative activity and public advocacy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent measures by the Ukrainian authorities reflect a comprehensive approach to more effectively regulating the gambling industry and protecting the population from the negative consequences of unregulated gambling. The cooperation of various government agencies, including the SBU and the National Center for Operational and Technical Management, emphasizes the multifaceted nature of solving these problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ongoing legislative initiatives, such as the expected anti-gambling law, indicate Ukraine’s intention to introduce stricter regulations in the near future. This could lead to a more controlled and secure gaming environment where only licensed and regulated operators can offer services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
