{"id":6243,"date":"2024-07-16T12:10:27","date_gmt":"2024-07-16T11:10:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=6243"},"modified":"2024-07-16T12:10:31","modified_gmt":"2024-07-16T11:10:31","slug":"nba-unveils-76-billion-broadcast-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/07\/16\/nba-unveils-76-billion-broadcast-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"NBA Unveils $76 Billion Broadcast Partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The <strong>NBA<\/strong> has netted a record broadcast deal with <strong>ESPN, ABC, NBC<\/strong> and <strong>Amazon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Worth $76bn, the multi-year media partnership will begin at the start of the 2025\/26 season and has been described as one of the most valuable in all of sports.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is one noteworthy admission, however, as <strong>TNT Sports<\/strong> lost rights for the NBA in the last negotiation period and will not broadcast the league for the first time since 1989.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESPN, NBC and Amazon\u2019s <strong>Prime Video<\/strong> \u2013 the league\u2019s first exclusive streaming partner \u2013 will receive a lion-share of regular season games. It is believed that once the NFL season concludes in February, NBC and Amazon will replace NFL timeslots for NBA games, maximising potential viewership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Video is also expected to show a majority of its regular season games on Friday and Saturday nights whilst another streaming platform, NBC\u2019s <strong>Peacock<\/strong>, will also stream live games on Tuesdays, with NBC\u2019s programme predominantly broadcasting games on Mondays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ESPN is expected to broadcast fewer regular season games than it did in its last media rights deal with the league due to sharing with an additional partner. Whilst the NFL season resumes, ESPN will broadcast regular season games on Wednesdays, Saturdays \u2013 on ABC \u2013 and Sundays.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What ESPN held onto was the valuable coverage of the NBA Finals to be on the network each year as part of the 11-year deal, as well as one Conference Finals.
