EBITDA growth was maintained despite the trading margin declining from <strong>18.5% to 17.5%<\/strong> in the second quarter, indicating the company&#8217;s profitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sportradar\u2019s profit from continuing operations also fell to <strong>-\u20ac1.5 million<\/strong> in the first half of the year, <strong>down 1.6% year-on-year<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The loss was likely due to increased expenses. Fee and compensation costs rose 44% year-on-year to<strong> \u20ac72.6 million<\/strong>. Out-of-pocket expenses increased 6% to \u20ac89.1 million, total sports rights expenses <strong>rose 83% to \u20ac95.9 million<\/strong> and other operating expenses rose <strong>8% to \u20ac22.6 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carsten Koerl,<\/strong> Sportradar CEO, said: \u201cOur strong second-quarter results, including another quarter of record revenues, demonstrate the operating momentum we are generating across our business and the clear execution of our strategies to outperform the market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Segment by segment, revenue for the firm\u2019s <strong>Betting Technology and Solutions<\/strong> division grew 30% year-over-year from<strong> \u20ac176.1m to \u20ac229.4m<\/strong>, making up<strong> 82%<\/strong> of group-wide revenue, up from <strong>81%<\/strong> in Q2 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Sports Content, Technology, and Services <\/strong>division recorded revenue growth of <strong>22%<\/strong>, increasing from <strong>\u20ac49.3m to \u20ac40.3m<\/strong>. This division accounted for <strong>18%<\/strong> of group revenue, down slightly from 19% the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the US, Sportradar continues to see strong revenue growth. The country\u2019s huge betting market, high-value sports leagues, and extensive media broadcasting network make it a lucrative market for sports tech and data firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>US revenue during Q2 2024 rose 59% year-over-year from <strong>\u20ac38m to \u20ac60.6m<\/strong>. While Rest of World revenue remains larger \u2013 increasing by <strong>22%<\/strong> from <strong>\u20ac178.4m to \u20ac217.8m<\/strong> \u2013 the US now accounts for <strong>22%<\/strong> of Sportradar\u2019s global revenue, up from <strong>18%<\/strong> last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sportradar counts the <strong>NBA<\/strong> as one of its biggest US clients. The company\u2019s figures also indicate active partnerships across various other sports and regions, including China\u2019s <strong>CBA League<\/strong> (basketball) and <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/07\/12\/sportradar-extends-uefa-sports-data-rights-agreement\/\"><strong>UEFA<\/strong><\/a> (football). Both partnerships were renewed this year, with the UEFA deal extended in Q2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arrangements with prominent sports leagues have contributed to rising media rights costs, particularly NBA and <a href=\"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/07\/18\/sportradar-and-atp-enter-into-partnership-to-combat-abuse-in-tennis\/\"><strong>ATP<\/strong><\/a> rights. However, these deals have played a significant role in securing Sportradar\u2019s strong position in the global sports tech and data sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead, Sportradar expects its 2024 revenue to reach \u20ac1.07bn, slightly up from its previous projection of<strong> \u20ac1.06bn<\/strong>, marking a <strong>22% <\/strong>year-over-year growth. Adjusted EBITDA is expected to reach <strong>\u20ac204m<\/strong>, also a <strong>22%<\/strong> increase from the previous year and 1% higher than its earlier expectation of <strong>\u20ac202m<\/strong>, with a margin of around <strong>19%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Koerl added: \u201cWe delivered robust growth across our high-value product portfolio and saw strong client uptake while continuing to strengthen our business by driving efficiencies and generating significant cash flow.
