Thailand’s Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat <\/strong>has said the mega entertainment complex and casino will proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thai media quoted him as saying after a public hearing in which 80 percent of participants supported the plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government\u2019s proposed casino and entertainment complex was also raised during public consultations on the \u201cCasino Bill\u201d released in August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complex is expected to attract Thai gamblers, which would account for 90% of the expected customers. The project is expected to lift tourism revenue by around TBH 12bn ($340m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plans to legalize casinos and gambling in Thailand were developed with the support of former Prime Minister Thavasin in its implementation. After that, the current government continued to work on the project with the apparent support of the current prime minister’s father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
