{"id":7090,"date":"2024-10-04T13:54:20","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T12:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=7090"},"modified":"2024-10-04T13:54:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T12:54:25","slug":"entain-appoints-stella-david-as-chair-to-restore-shareholder-value","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/10\/04\/entain-appoints-stella-david-as-chair-to-restore-shareholder-value\/","title":{"rendered":"Entain Appoints Stella David as Chair to Restore Shareholder Value"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Entain Plc<\/strong> has announced that <strong>Stella David<\/strong> has begun her tenure as Chair of the Board of the <strong>FTSE 100<\/strong> gambling group as of 1 October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Announced in H1, Stella David was elected to succeed <strong>Barry Gibson <\/strong>as Chair, following his decision to step down from all duties related to Entain\u2019s corporate governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to the succession, David had served as Interim CEO of Entain, after the resignation of Jette <strong>Nygaard-Andersen<\/strong> in December 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Elected as a Non-Executive Director (NED) of Entain in 2021, David had previously served as Chair of <strong>Norwegian Cruise Lines<\/strong> and as a corporate director at <strong>Bacardi<\/strong> and <strong>Domino\u2019s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Board of Entain confirmed that David will also serve as Chair of the People &amp; Governance and Capital Allocation Committees, as well as a member of the Sustainability &amp; Compliance Committee with immediate effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further changes include the appointment of <strong>Helen Ashton(NED)<\/strong> as Chair of the Audit Committee, succeeding <strong>Pierre Bouchut, <\/strong>who will continue as a member of this committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, Entain concluded a six-month executive search, announcing the appointment of <strong>Gavin Isaacs<\/strong> as the new Chief Executive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The former President of <strong>Scientific Games<\/strong> and Chairman of <strong>SBTech<\/strong>, Isaacs will spearhead the new corporate strategy of the FTSE 100 group, aiming to return the company to growth following corporate losses of \u00a3900m ($1.098 billion) in 2023 and to restore its former value for shareholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A critical concern, H1 trading saw Entain post <a href=\"https:\/\/sbcnews.co.uk\/technology\/2024\/09\/09\/entain-pledges-uki-growth\/\">unsatisfactory results<\/a> for its UK and Ireland online business, with revenues declining by 8% and underlying EBITDA dropping 25% to \u00a387m (($106.14 million).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite leadership changes and the forthcoming \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/sbcnews.co.uk\/sportsbook\/2023\/11\/02\/entain-triggers-streamline-as-growth-pains-compound-in-q3\/\">Project Romer<\/a>\u2019 technical upgrades, Entain maintains its full-year EBITDA guidance, expected to be in the range of \u00a31,040m\u2013\u00a31,090m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gavin Isaacs and Stella David will present Entain\u2019s new leadership statement ahead of the Q3 trading update on 17 October 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t forget to subscribe to our <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/sbceurasia\">Telegram channel!<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Entain Plc has announced that Stella David has begun her tenure as Chair of the Board of the FTSE 100 gambling group as of 1 October 2024.
