{"id":7378,"date":"2024-10-31T15:29:19","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T15:29:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=7378"},"modified":"2024-10-31T15:29:25","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T15:29:25","slug":"nsus-group-acquires-wsop-brand-from-caesars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2024\/10\/31\/nsus-group-acquires-wsop-brand-from-caesars\/","title":{"rendered":"NSUS Group Acquires WSOP Brand from Caesars"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> has completed the sale of the intellectual property rights to the <strong>World Series of Poker (WSOP) <\/strong>brand to <strong>NSUS Group<\/strong>, the parent company of <strong>GGPoker<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal was closed for<strong> $500 million<\/strong>, consisting of $250 million in cash and a $250 million promissory note. The promissory note matures five years after the closing of the transaction, secured by the WSOP intellectual property assets being sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Caesars has sold the WSOP to NSUS, the operator will continue its relationship with the poker brand for several more years, both in land-based and online formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, Caesars\u2019 Las Vegas casinos will retain the rights to host the WSOP\u2019s flagship live event for the next 20 years. The live event has been held at the <strong>Horseshoe<\/strong> and <strong>Paris<\/strong> casinos since its move from the <strong>Rio<\/strong> in 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caesars Digital will be licensed to continue operating the WSOP online for the foreseeable future in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. The operator noted that \u201cotherwise, it will be prohibited from operating real money online poker operations for a specified period of time and subject to certain exceptions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caesars\u2019 in-casino poker rooms will continue to use the WSOP branding, while the operator\u2019s destinations will also have preferential rights to host <strong>WSOP Circuit<\/strong> live events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Several WSOP executives will now also take on leadership roles within the NSUS structure, bringing more than 30 years of combined experience to help lead the brand into the next phase under new leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ty Stewart <\/strong>has been named CEO of the newly formed WSOP subsidiary, <strong>Gregory Chochon<\/strong> has been named COO, and <strong>Eric Eydissen<\/strong> has joined as communications manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in August, NSUS Group CEO, <strong>Michael Kim<\/strong>, commented on the deal, noting that the group intends to expand the poker brand worldwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAfter collaborating with Caesars Entertainment for years, NSUS Group, the operators of GGPoker, is thrilled to announce their new role in leading the WSOP, the world\u2019s most renowned poker brand,\u201d stated Kim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will leverage GGPoker\u2019s cutting-edge technology and industry expertise to create an exciting future for WSOP, ensuring players have an increasingly improved, safe, and seamless poker experience.
