His departure is the second such event in 2024. In April, the company was ousted by <strong>Jessica Mellor<\/strong>, who stepped down as CEO of the Gold Coast resort after just six months on the job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Star did not give a reason for Mackay\u2019s departure, saying only that it had begun the process of recruiting a new CEO for The Star Gold Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe thank Mark Mackay for his assistance and wish him well for the future,\u201d said Star\u2019s Group CEO &amp; Managing Director, <strong>Steve McCann<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackay\u2019s departure comes just a week after the Queensland government announced it had deferred a decision on whether to suspend The Star Gold Coast\u2019s casino licence until March 31, 2025.
