Virtual Gaming World’s (VGW) Global Poker<\/strong> brand plans to close operations in Nevada<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Poker has informed players that its Nevada social casino will no longer be available to players as of April 15, 2025. Global Poker customers will lose access to their accounts and personal data associated with their accounts. Customers will also be prohibited from making any ransom requests in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe understand that this news may be disappointing and we want to assure you this decision was not made lightly but made as part of our continual evaluation of our operations in the interests of all our stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The closure of Global Poker’s Nevada offering will be gradual. Players will no longer be able to purchase the platform\u2019s gold coins as of January, and customers will no longer be able to play Global Poker games as of February, but will be able to redeem their coins for prizes that will no longer be mailed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Global Poker is leaving Nevada as its parent company faces regulatory scrutiny across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Delaware Division of Gaming Enforcement previously ruled that VGW must stop offering online casino products in the state. VGW also shut down its sweepstakes in Connecticut<\/strong> after receiving a cease and desist letter from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection<\/strong>. VGW was sent the letter amid allegations that it was operating unlicensed gambling in violation of state law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VGW has also been ordered to cease operations in Michigan, Idaho, and Washington<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The betting giant is facing legal scrutiny as it recently filed a motion to dismiss a class action lawsuit in Georgia<\/strong>. The lawsuit filed by Destiny Kennedy<\/strong> alleges that VGW\u2019s brands operate as legal casinos in the state. In response, VGW also filed a motion to compel arbitration. A similar class action lawsuit against VGW in the state was dismissed last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

VGW is the largest social casino operator in the world, with brands that also include Chumba Casino and Luckyland Slots<\/strong>. According to Eilers & Krejcik<\/strong>, the operator holds about 50% of the market share of its social casino products, down from a peak of 90% in 2020. VGW generated just over $4 billion in revenue last fiscal year, down from $3.1 billion the year before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
