Entain Australia CFO Lachlan Fitt <\/strong>has resigned from the company, according to reports in The Guardian<\/strong>. Entain NZ <\/strong>managing director Cameron Rodger<\/strong> has also confirmed his resignation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fitt has held the role since 2018 and led mergers and acquisitions for the group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fitt told the Guardian: \u201cI am grateful to Entain for backing me, and particularly for the recent opportunity to work on starting the revitalisation of the New Zealand racing industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am proud of the transformation of Entain\u2019s wagering and media business in New Zealand, there is still more to do, but it is in great shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI hope to shortly be announcing what I will be doing next \u2013 there are a number of opportunities that combine my passion for racing and bloodstock, and the global opportunity both present.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no suggestion that the resignations are related to allegations of social responsibility deficiencies levelled against Entain by Australia\u2019s financial intelligence agency (Austrac)<\/strong>, which allege the firm accepted A$152 million in bets from 17 \u201chigh-risk\u201d clients who had \u201csuspected criminal profiles\/connections\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The resignations are part of a change at Entain after group CEO Gavin Isaacs <\/strong>stepped down \u201cby mutual consent\u201d with immediate effect five months after his appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaacs was announced as the company\u2019s CEO in July last year, ending a seven-month search for the firm following the departure of Jette Nygaard-Andersen<\/strong> in December 2023. The operator said current non-executive chair Stella David<\/strong> would again serve as interim CEO until a permanent replacement for Isaacs is found. David served as interim CEO of Entain from December 2023 to September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
