Michael is a high calibre individual with deep knowledge of the sports and gaming industry as well as having a proven track record in investment management and creating shareholder value.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cEdmond brings extensive product and technology experience, particularly in executing transformational strategies, driving growth and innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over at Gentoo, <strong>Micha Leth Heller\u00f8e <\/strong>has been promoted to become the gaming-focused affiliate media group as Chief People Officer while <strong>Dijana Radunovic<\/strong> has been named Senior Director of Sales.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The duo take on their new roles at the firm at a pivotal time, coming after its spin off from <strong>Gaming Innovation Group (GiG)<\/strong>, rebranding from <strong>GiG Media<\/strong> to its current identity of Gentoo in October last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The pair are said to have been instrumental in the Stockholm and Oslo-listed media firm\u2019s growth over the past few years. Gentoo stressed that the duo\u2019s promotions will play a key role in the next phase of its growth and operational discipline planning.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese appointments reflect more than career milestones,\u201d noted <strong>Jonas Warrer,<\/strong> CEO of Gentoo Media. \u201cThey represent the kind of leadership we believe in: thoughtful, values-driven and grounded in deep understanding of our people, our business and our partners.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news follows Gentoo\u2019s recent Q1 results for 2025,of which it revealed revenues of \u20ac24.8m ($26,78m), down 11% on 2024 comparatives of \u20ac28m ( $30.24 m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A period of strategic adjustment<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gentoo vowed to reduce its publishing portfolio to approximately 70 websites, focusing only on those that demonstrate high organic traffic potential, brand equity, or monetisation capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The strategic shift was reflected in a downturn in KPIs, as first-time depositors (FTDs) fell by 24% year-on-year (95,000 vs. 125,000 in Q1 2024), as Gentoo pivoted towards \u201chigher-value markets at the cost of overall player volume.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, Entain\u2019s Q1 trading saw a 9% increase in total group Net Gaming Revenue (NGR) for Q1 2025, or 11% on a constant currency basis, driven by robust online demand and favourable sports results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Online NGR (excluding the US) increased by 6%, or 10% at constant currency, thanks to \u201cstrong volumes in the UK and Brazil\u201d. UK &amp; Ireland online revenue surged 23% with home market results deemed \u201cwell above expectations\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further highlights saw Brazil up 31% in NGR, in line with forecasts for the newly regulated market. Retail revenue across the group was up a modest 2%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new appointees take on their roles during a tricky period of regulatory relationships for the multinational gaming group, however.
