Crown Resorts<\/strong> has named Brian Pereira<\/strong> as the permanent Chief Executive of its Perth casino. Earlier he has been fulfilling the role of interim Chief Executive since the previous Chief Executive, David Tsai<\/strong>, was promoted to lead Crown Resorts\u2019 national business at the end of 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside promoting Pereira, the Crown Perth<\/strong> board also approved the appointment of Ben Wyatt<\/strong>, subject to regulatory approvals, as its new Chair. Wyatt replaces John Van Der Wielen<\/strong>, who will remain on the board over the coming month to aid the transition to new leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first focus for the new leadership team will be on overcoming the final regulatory hurdle in Perth \u2013 with a decision looming over its suitability to hold a casino licence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clarity over the future is expected imminently as the company prepares for a future under new leadership. Previously, all three of Crown\u2019s resorts lost their licences due to separate compliance inquiries. Perth is the last of which to be awaiting a licensing decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the appointments, Tsai commented: \u201cI am confident that these two appointments, with their deep local knowledge of the [Western Australia] tourism sector and economy, are the right people to lead the Perth team into the next exciting era of growth for the State\u2019s only fully integrated entertainment resort.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crown Resorts\u2019 Chair, John Borghetti<\/strong>, also hailed the appointments, in addition to thanking Van Der Wielen for his leadership and dedication during his three-year tenure as Perth Chair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pereira joined Crown in 2023 as Chief Financial Officer. Before joining the company, he accumulated over 30 years of experience in the financial and corporate strategic leadership, most notably serving as CFO of Perth Airport for six years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Wyatt brings significant government experience to Crown, having served as Treasurer of the Parliament of Western Australia for four years between March 2017 and 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to that, he also served as Shadow Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Education. Outside of parliament, he is a Non-Executive Director of numerous companies, including the Australian Rules Football Team, the West Coast Eagles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs Western Australia\u2019s largest single-site employer, Crown is a key part of the Western Australian economy, and I am excited to be joining a business that delivers some of Perth\u2019s most exciting developments, entertainment offerings and tourism opportunities,\u201d said Wyatt on his new role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, Crown Resorts announced that Martin Pakula<\/strong>, the former Attorney General of the Victorian government, will replace Ian Silk<\/strong> as Chair of Crown Melbourne<\/strong> on 1 July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
