{"id":9684,"date":"2025-06-05T12:19:35","date_gmt":"2025-06-05T11:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=9684"},"modified":"2025-06-05T12:20:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-05T11:20:07","slug":"fennica-gaming-receives-gaming-solutions-provider-license-in-uae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/06\/05\/fennica-gaming-receives-gaming-solutions-provider-license-in-uae\/","title":{"rendered":"Fennica Gaming Receives Gaming Solutions Provider License in UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA)<\/strong> has awarded a Gaming Related Vendor Licence to<strong> Fennica Gaming<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Licences from the United Arab Emirates gambling regulator could have significant future potential, as a panel at the recent <strong>SBC Digital \u2013 Middle East and Africa 2025<\/strong> event also highlighted the possibility of the UAE licence being \u201cpassported\u201d to neighbouring <strong>Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)<\/strong> countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the licence, Fennica Gaming can now supply its casino titles to operators in the regulated United Arab Emirates casino market once it launches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Live with titles across three continents in more than 15 countries, Fennica Gaming is the tenth company to receive a Gaming-Related Vendor Licence from the GCGRA, joining the likes of <strong>Aristocrat, Smartplay, PayBy, Xpoint, EQL Games, Novomatic, IGT, Scientific Games and Random State<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cReceiving the Gaming Related Vendor License from the GCGRA is a significant step for Fennica Gaming as we continue to grow our global presence,\u201d commented <strong>Timo Kiiskinen<\/strong>, Managing Director of Fennica Gaming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe UAE represents a new dynamic market and for us a possibility to enter a new continent and new markets. We are excited to contribute to the development of its regulated gaming sector with our trusted and innovative solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While ten companies have received a Gaming-Related Vendor Licence from the GCGRA, only two companies have been awarded an operator licence by the UAE gambling regulator so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Game<\/strong> was awarded a Lottery Licence to be the operator of the UAE lottery in July last year, while <strong>Wynn Resorts<\/strong> received a Land-Based Gaming Facilities Licence in October 2024 for its joint venture<strong> Wynn Al Marjan Island<\/strong> resort in Ras Al Khaimah with Marjan and RAK Hospitality Holding, which is expected to open in 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GCGRA also has a<strong> Memorandum of Understanding<\/strong> in place with the <strong>New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement<\/strong> to strengthen the commercial gaming industry with an emphasis on cybersecurity, consumer protection and regulatory collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gaming in the Middle East was a topic of discussion during a panel at the recent SBC Digital \u2013 Middle East and Africa 2025 two-day webinar event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The panel, titled \u2018A New Era for Gaming in the Middle East\u2019, featured <strong>Jad Gharios,<\/strong> Chair of<strong> BetArabia<\/strong>; <strong>Dany Eid<\/strong>, Founder of <strong>BetArabia<\/strong>; and <strong>Joseph Borg<\/strong>, Partner at <strong>WH Partners<\/strong> and was moderated by <strong>SBC Advisory Partners\u2019 <\/strong>Founder &amp; Managing Director, <strong>Anton Kaszubowski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Borg stated that the establishment of a gambling framework and regulator in the UAE represents a \u201cmomentous shift in the gaming industry\u201d in the region, adding that current legislation in the country could also allow for a UAE licence to be \u201cpassported\u201d to other neighbouring countries part of the GCC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSomething very interesting that you can find in the law is, tied to what you mentioned about the greater part of the region, so outside of the UAE, is that the law already caters for passporting of the license across GCC countries. I believe that that is in itself, although it means nothing today, it already sheds some light on what the plans are for the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhen we talk of GCC, we\u2019re talking about the other countries in the region \u2013 Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman.
