While SBC Summit 2025<\/strong> introduces<\/a> a Latin America & Brazil track<\/strong>, further aligning its conference strategy with the global nature of the event, which is set to welcome 30,000 attendees from around the world this September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) <\/strong>has stated<\/a> that Bill No. 55 <\/strong>does not shield Maltese operators from legal action in EU member states, amid an escalating dispute with the European Union. While some countries are on their way to be taken off<\/a> the EU<\/strong> AML risk list<\/strong>, including Gibraltar <\/strong>and the UAE <\/strong>\u2013 two hotspots for the gambling sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Philippine gaming regulator PAGCOR<\/strong> has unveiled<\/a> a new website that allows the general public to check the legitimacy of online gaming operators. While InPlay Matrix <\/strong>has announced<\/a> that it has further expanded its customer portfolio in a deal with Philippines operator SG8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Korean government<\/strong> is facing<\/a> pressure to establish a new task force focused on addressing gambling abroad by Korean nationals. While Japan<\/strong> has asked<\/a> the governments of Canada, Costa Rica, Georgia, Malta, Gibraltar, Anjouan Island (Comoros), Curacao (Netherlands), and Isle of Man<\/strong> to block Japanese citizens\u2019 access to online casino sites licensed in those countries as part of a crackdown on online gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen,<\/strong> has conducted <\/a>a major crackdown on influencers promoting illegal gambling operators. While the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)<\/strong> has penalised<\/a> Tabcorp Holdings<\/strong> with a penalty in excess of AUS $4m for spamming VIP players.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PointsBet\u2019s<\/strong> board has firmly rejected the proposal made by Betr,<\/strong> the trading name of BlueBet<\/strong>, setting the stage <\/a>for MIXI <\/strong>to become the new owner of the Australian betting group. Entain<\/strong> and MGM Resorts International have maintained<\/a> profitable momentum with their BetMGM<\/strong> joint venture going into Q2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sportradar<\/strong> has secured <\/a>the exclusive rights to distribute betting data and non-exclusive media content during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025<\/strong> through a partnership with DAZN <\/strong>\u2013 broadcaster of the ongoing tournament. As has been the case consistently since 2019, the Premier League<\/strong> stands out as the biggest market for Britain\u2019s bookmakers, and in turn bet365, AK Bets<\/strong> and BetMGM <\/strong>seem to stand out<\/a> as this year\u2019s big operator winners. Moreover, BoyleSports<\/strong> has formed<\/a> an alliance with West Ham United<\/strong> to appear on the Premier League side\u2019s shirts for the upcoming 2025\/26 season, according to reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GR8 Tech<\/strong> is leveraging<\/a> its partnership with world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk<\/strong> to maximise engagement ahead of his next bout. While International Game Technology (IGT)<\/strong> has announced<\/a> its rebrand as Brightstar Lottery<\/strong> as the firm looks to become a \u201cpremier pure play lottery business\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
