{"id":9913,"date":"2025-06-25T13:04:32","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:04:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/?p=9913"},"modified":"2025-06-25T13:04:37","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T12:04:37","slug":"betway-has-extended-its-agreement-with-the-south-african-rugby-team-the-logo-will-remain-on-the-shorts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sbceurasia.com\/en\/2025\/06\/25\/betway-has-extended-its-agreement-with-the-south-african-rugby-team-the-logo-will-remain-on-the-shorts\/","title":{"rendered":"Betway Has Extended Its Agreement With the South African Rugby Team: The Logo Will Remain on the Shorts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Betway<\/strong> has renewed its partnership with <strong>SA Rugby <\/strong>for a further four years, which will now also reach the <strong>Blitzboks<\/strong> and <strong>Springbok Women\u2019s Sevens <\/strong>teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sponsorship, which previously applied to the Springbok men and women\u2019s sides only, will see the British gambling company\u2019s branding placed on the back of the shorts of the four teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betway continues to boost its presence in South Africa, where it has been an active operator since 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head of Marketing at Betway Africa, <strong>Mark Rowles<\/strong>, noted: \u201cThe Springboks are a team that have brought so much joy to South Africa and we as Betway are delighted to be behind the Boks for another four years, our journey has seen so much success for the team and that feel good feeling has certainly rubbed off on the Rainbow Nation\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are looking forward to playing a role in the success of both the women\u2019s and sevens teams over the next four-year period and will be investing in the growth and accessibility of the women\u2019s game.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will be launching our official Springbok campaign in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for our billboards across South Africa, where Springbok fans have continuously shown their support by being fully behind the Boks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe would also like to take this opportunity to wish the Springbok Women\u2019s squad all the best for the upcoming World Cup in England that kicks off in August.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A target region<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the country, Betway\u2019s sportsbook covers 27 sports altogether \u2013 both local and international. The firm also holds several sponsorships such as the <strong>Betway SA20 T20 <\/strong>cricket league as well as horseracing\u2019s <strong>Betway Summer Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year, the bookmaker also netted the naming rights to the country\u2019s top football division \u2014 the <strong>Betway Premiership (PSL)<\/strong>. This was claimed to be \u201cthe single biggest investment in South African sport\u201d \u2013 reportedly valued at around R900m ($48.5m) for a three-year period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the operator also contributes through several community initiatives such as Betway Cares, supporting elderly care, disability sports and grassroots programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the latest rugby extension, SA Rugby CEO <strong>Rian Oberholzer<\/strong> commented: \u201cAs we\u2019ve seen over the last four years, this partnership with Betway enabled us to work together in bringing our passionate fans even closer to the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to extend our partnership with Betway as this will yet again stretch beyond the four white lines of a rugby field. Betway have brought some exciting initiatives to the rugby landscape, such as the Betway Next Phase.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betway Next Phase is a three-year coaching programme that aims to elevate the level of women\u2019s rugby in the country.
