Activision Blizzard, developer of popular video games such as the Call of Duty series, Candy Crush and World of Warcraft, has become part of Microsoft’s massive $68.7 billion acquisition.
This acquisition is not only the largest in the history of the technology company, but also five times larger than the next largest video game acquisition earlier this year after Take-Two Interactive’s acquisition of Zynga.
Following Activision’s filing for the acquisition, Microsoft shares are trading at $241 per share, down 20% from January 2022.
But that’s not all for the tech conglomerate. Activision Blizzard’s share price has risen significantly. Over the same period, prices rose by 19%. The stock is currently trading at $76.
However, Activison’s share price fell 6% on Thanksgiving Day when the US stock market was closed.
