National Lottery plc, the new lottery operator in Malta, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Convenience Shop (Holding) plc to distribute instant scratch cards for the National Lottery.
National Lottery plc took over the management of the Malta Lottery in July 2022. It plans to launch instant scratch cards under the SCRATCHIZ brand in the second quarter of this year that, according to the MoU, will be sold through a network of 86 convenience stores in the archipelago.
Franco De Gabriele, CCO at National Lottery plc, said: «We are very pleased to have come to terms with The Convenience Shop to extend the retail reach through which the SCRATCHIZ product will be available.
We have been working relentlessly to be in a position to add the Instant Scratch Card product to our existing rich portfolio of lottery products and are glad that we have found a distributor of the calibre of the Convenience Shop to extend the reach of our Instant Scratch Card products.»
Sharon Sammut, chief executive of the company, noted that strategically located stores give distributors and customers a competitive edge by offering them access to a range of products in one place.
