FIFA has announced a partnership with the state monopoly betting agency TAB, which will be actively represented in four stadiums in New Zealand, July 20 — August 20, during the Women’s World Cup jointly hosted with Australia.
The deal follows a gambling sponsorship for FIFA at the men’s 2022 World Cup in Qatar, also in the third-tier “supporter” category, to promote the Betano brand in Europe.
Last year, the New Zealand betting agency brought NZ$2.4 million ($1.48 million) to the National Football Federation in the form of commission received from sports betting operations.
