Lisbon — New Location for the SBC Summit

The flagship global event SBC Summit will move to Lisbon from 2024 to better suit the needs of the fastest growing event in the industry.

SBC Summit is a global event that brings together participants from different parts of the world and covers a variety of industry sectors.

The upcoming event, formerly known as SBC Summit Barcelona, will be called SBC Summit 2024 to reflect the evolution of branding and highlight the global nature of the event.

The event, scheduled for September 24-26, 2024 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL), will occupy more than 100,000 square meters of exhibition and conference space, more than double the size of the 2023 site.

The increased capacity will allow the SBC Summit to host 25,000 people at FIL. This diverse audience includes operators, affiliates, betting and casino providers, regulators, payment providers, marketing agencies, associations, legal advisors and many more.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC said: «The decision for a new home for our flagship event was driven by its remarkable growth, which had clearly outpaced the capacity of Fira Barcelona Montjuïc, as well as praise and support from clients and industry stakeholders. When we say it’s the fastest ever-growing event in the industry, we mean it, and that’s why finding the right venue and city was absolutely essential.»

The event’s expansion on the exhibition front does not come at the expense of its commitment to providing the ultimate delegate experience. The conference will feature eight stages and 500 speakers, including the largest gaming stage, designed for thousands of listeners. In addition, the conference will feature 24-hour food trucks serving national and international food and drinks, as well as numerous bars, cafes, beer gardens, beach bars, entertainment and gaming areas.

Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in Western Europe and the jewel in the crown of world history. Lisbon attracts more than 6 million tourists every year and is famous for the friendliness and hospitality of its locals. There is a good transport network and although the official language is Portuguese, English is widely spoken in the main areas of the city.

Given the global scale of the event, Lisbon is also an ideal choice due to its extensive air connections. Humberto Delgado Airport, which is located just 4 km from FIL, provides direct connections to 136 airports around the world, including direct flights to major hubs in the US and South America.
