Mercur Illuminates Bucharest: An Unforgettable Experience

The company has presented their new high-quality gaming cabinets.

The 15th edition of the Entertainment Arena Expo (EAE), organized by Expo 24 Romania and held on September 5–7, was challenged by the uncertain political and regulatory environment in the country’s gaming industry.

This led to a decrease in attendance at the event, but despite this, the exhibition stands housed in the vast B2 Romexpo hall continued to shine, especially the stand of the world famous company Merkur Sun.

Supported by its International headquarters in Germany, Merkur, together with local Romanian subsidiary Merkur Gaming Distribution, showcased impressive gaming cabinets at its presentation, including the highest quality Avantgarde Max Trio, Avante Trio and Allegro Trio models.

Merkur multigames have become a key feature of many gaming venues in Romania, and at the Entertainment Arena Expo the brand new multigames collection version 11.0 was launched, featuring exciting new games, attracting significant attention. However, a product that has maintained its popularity over time is Furious Jackpot, which continues to enjoy huge popularity on Romanian gaming floors.

From classics to the latest innovations, progressive jackpots have recently become a staple in slot machines around the world. Merkur has successfully implemented and improved this new technology by introducing a varied selection of themed progressive jackpots at the exhibition in Romania. These include Link Zone II, the exciting sequel to the original and innovative Link Zone, Merkur Mystery II and the newest version of Solar Link, as well as the Jackpot Five tower.

The use of the Roman digit “II” (two) in the names Link Zone II and Merkur Mystery II implies several important improvements over the original. Specifically, updated math in the software makes it easier for players to access the jackpot feature in Link Zone II, and in Merkur Mystery II makes it easier for players to access random prizes.

Merkur Chief Executive, International, Athanasios “Sakis” Isaakidis expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team, but also noted a decrease in attendance at the exhibition this year. He commented:  “The numbers of visitors, compared to the crowds that we welcomed in 2022, were decreasing. Not at all the fault of the show organisers but rather a reflection of what seems to be the latest political and regulatory aspects of gaming in Romania.

Managing Director of Merkur Gaming Romania Hannelore Valkanov noted: “There are challenges at present, certainly, but I regard challenges as opportunities to overcome and our team in Romania will be working extra hard to achieve that‘. I have every faith that this will prove to be the case. It is always a pleasure to be in Romania and while this year’s EAE was numerically smaller than last year, the event proved that Merkur is a strong brand, and will remain so.”
